A family have stunned UFO enthusiasts by sharing a video of an unidentified object seemingly floating above their home garden.

Footage of a white disc of light skimming across the sky in Burnley, Lancashire, has gone viral – with the online UFO community sharing thoughts and theories about the unusual object.

In the three-minute clip, filmed on Saturday 9 May, a white, glowing object high in the sky can be seen hovering above the clouds before moving back and forth at rapid speed.

A young family can be heard gasping in disbelief as they caught the object on camera, watching it until it shot off across the rooftops and out of sight.

The footage appears to have been filmed in the early evening, with a man, woman and some children heard discussing what they can see.

A young child can be heard gasping: “We just found a UFO. What else is it?”

Someone replies: “It’s not a drone, that’s above the clouds.”

The footage comes just weeks after the USA confirmed the existence of UFOs

Another man added: “Satellites don’t skip about like that. I’m in awe. I swear to god I’ve never seen anything like it.”

A woman can be heard panicking: “Oh my god, that’s not even funny, it’s scary,” as the object disappears and reappears from sight.

The footage was shared online and quickly drew attention from UFO enthusiasts on Twitter.

One said: “When I saw the thumbnail, I thought that it was probably just another Chinese lantern, but after watching the video I cannot think of anything terrestrial that would move like that.”

Another bizarrely claimed: “It’s great footage, shows it has the ability to go forwards and stop instantly, which man made vehicles cannot do. Not even Helicopters can do that.”

The sighting comes just weeks after the Pentagon in America released footage of UFOs.

At the end of April, the headquarters building of the United States Department of Defense shared three unclassified videos taken by Navy pilots of “unidentified aerial phenomena.”
